A little history...

In 1995, Bruno Vermeersch founded the Energyteam. As a graduate automotive mechanics, he chose to develop a fuel efficient car as a final work.
As such, our first car, "Energy 1" was created!
After ten months of construction and development, Bruno and his team participated in the Belgian Shell Eco Marathon in Brussels. They succeeded to run 422 km (264 mi) with one liter of fuel.
Later in 1996, Bruno made his next attempt during the Eco Marathon in Finland and he improved the last result. Energy 1 was now able to run 514 km (321 mi) per liter of fuel!
These unique results were the start of a continuously growing team...
